invention and lies —
they’ve mislaid too many “u”s
to be Canadian
a Trump 2024 flag unfurled high
on the occupied Ottawa streets
like a bullet to the heart of the North
as babies scream for a peace denied
by the would-be overthrowers
of our democracy
by men who laugh and claim
that the “Anglo-Saxon” race
has the best bloodlines
and then later claim to be Indigenous —
a convenience
as if it’s a costume to be worn
to hide the ugly of white supremacy
before the explosion
by men who call a confederate flag
“just a piece of cloth”
but a mask is supposed to ruin us all
